Men's and Ladies Titles from Rudford A
The Gloucestershire County Closed was organised by Cheltenham and took place on Sunday 14th December at the YMCA
Sports Centre, Cheltenham. Rudford was again well represented with Rudford 'A' providing the winner for both the Men's Singles and Ladies Singles titles.
Darren Griffin (Rudford 'A'), pictured right with Janey Kirby presenting the awards, beat old rival Dave Harvey in the final of the Men's Singles.
In the Ladies singles there were 10 entries, where 2 groups of 5 battled it out, with the
winner of each group playing the runner-up of the other group in the semi-final.Two Rudford players made it to the final with Christine Williams of the 'A' team coming out on top against Rudford 'B's Ann Barnes (pictured left).
Christine and Ann joined forces to win a round-robin Ladies Doubles competition.
Ann also came away with the Restricted Singles title (for 19-39 year olds) beating Chris Lardner.
In the Men's Doubles, team mates Darren and Gordon Shaw paired up to beat Nick Davidson and Dave Adamson to come away with the title (see picture below).
